Are your eyes hidden?
If your eyes seem to have disappeared with hooded lids and loose skin above and below, it will almost certainly age you. If you’ve tried all those eye-tightening creams and nothing seems to make much difference it could be time to take the next step and have Blepharoplasty – that’s the surgical name for an eye lift.
What is an eye lift?
It’s a surgical operation to remove the excess fat and skin around the eyes. This includes the ‘bags’ under the eyes and any droopiness at the outer corners and on the eyelids.
Blepharoplasty can be performed as an isolated operation or as part of a complete face lift.
Typically after an eye lift your friends and family will know you look better, but if they are unaware of the operation having taken place, will be unlikely to realise why you are looking so good. It’s a subtle change and will have a big effect on your confidence and self-esteem.
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure and will take between 90 minutes and 3 hours, depending on the patient and the extent of the eye lift. Incisions are made in the natural creases around your eyes so that, over time they will fade and be virtually unnoticeable.
