What is DiamondTome Microdermabrasion?

DiamondTome Microdermabrasion is a lunch-break service that rejuvenates aging, sun-damaged and acne-prone skin by exfoliating dead skin cells that have been building and clogging your pores. The procedure removes layers of dull skin by polishing it with a wand embedded with natural diamond chips while vacuuming away the dead skin and congestion in a controlled manner. It will give your skin a fresh, healthy appearance by minimizing acne scars, age spots, blemishes caused by sun damage, crow's feet, fine lines and superficial wrinkles.

Who are good candidates for DiamondTome Microdermabrasion?

A good candidate for microdermabrasion is a physically healthy man or woman with realistic expectations who is looking to minimize the appearance of acne prone or blotchy skin, fine lines, sun-damaged or uneven skin, keratosis pilaris, enlarged pores, milia, sebaceous hyperplasia or small scars.

How is the DiamondTome Microdermabrasion procedure performed?

After a consultation and skin analysis by our aesthetician you will begin your treatment by having your skin thoroughly cleansed to remove excess oils. Unlike other microdermabrasion systems, the DiamondTome Microdermabrasion system uses no loose abrasives to contaminate you or the environment. Instead it uses a sterile wand that has a tip embedded with natural diamond chips to remove layers of dull, dead skin. Removing the dead skin leaves a smoother surface and promotes new growth. The wand is glided over the skin while at the same time a vacuum removes the dead skin cells in a sterile and controlled manner. Because there are no crystals being propelled onto the skin the DiamondTome system allows the aesthetician to treat areas closer to the eyes and those fine lines and wrinkles around the lips. Your skin will look and feel softer and smoother even after the first treatment and will continue to improve with additional treatments. Recommended treatment series vary from four to ten sessions, depending on the condition being treated and your type of skin.

Is there much pain with the Microdermabrasion procedure?

The DiamondTome system is virtually painless, yet effective. The degree of effectiveness is controlled by a widely adjustable vacuum in conjunction with the varying coarseness of the DiamondTome wands selected by your esthetician as your treatment series progresses along. At the most, clients may experience a feeling similar to slight windburn or sunburn feeling.

What can I expect of the recovery after Microdermabrasion?

After a microdermabrasion, skin may have a warm and tingly sensation. Usually, clients experience mild redness from the increased blood circulation that will subside within 20 minutes to 12 hours. The skin will have a have a fresh glow and will feel very smooth. Over the next several days your skin may feel dry and tight, apply the appropriate moisturizer when needed. It is recommended that you do not apply makeup the day of the treatment to allow your skin to rest and rejuvenate overnight, however, makeup can be applied if necessary. Continuing the use of PRIORI Skin Care Products throughout your treatments, will promote healthy cell growth and replenish the nutrients needed in your skin.
