There are several types of fillers, each with their own benefits and effects; the ones we believe are best, and which we use here at our clinic, are Restylane, Sculptra, Radiesse, Juvéderm® Ultra
Dermal fillers work to mimic the skin’s production of collagen to ‘plump up’ and fill out lines or depressions in the skin, or hollows in areas such as the cheeks, for a fresher, more toned and youthful appearance. This improvement in overall skin surface quality acts to re-elasticate the contours of the face, for a non-surgical ‘lift’ that is highly effective, but nonetheless subtle and natural.
Hyaluronic Acid type fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm® Ultra can be used almost anywhere, including the lips.
Radiesse is excellent for more severe lines as well as recontouring the face and also rejuvenating the hands. It is not suitable for lip treatments.
Sculptra is ideal for restoring lost volume across the whole of the face from the forehead to the chin. Its effects take a few months to opitimise but then they last for a few years.
