Excessive sweating of the armpits
Axillary Hyperhidrosis
If you suffer from this condition you will know firsthand of its detrimental effect on your life.Your GP may have offered prescription anti-perspirants containing Aluminium Chloride, only to be dismayed that they have little or no effect. You may have considered the drastic step of having surgery – but there are other options that are longer term than anti-perspirants, don’t involve inpatient surgery and are highly effective.
These include:
- Botulinum Toxin (Botox)
- Vaser Sweat Therapy (permanent)
Botox
Very fine Botulinum Toxin injections have been used with almost 100% success to treat Hyperhidrosis for several years now. On average the effects last for six months. Riverbanks Clinic are so confident that Botulinum Toxin will control your hyperhidrosis that we offer 100% refunds if there is no reduction. Most people have this treatment 1-2 times a year.
Vaser Sweat Therapy®
Vaser Ultrasound treatment has been tested in the USA and been found to produce a
permanent reduction in sweat production with no downtime. There’s no tissue damage and despite a slight soreness immediately after the treatment, everything is usually pretty much back to normal in a couple of days.
How does the Vaser Sweat Therapy work?
First, the underarm area is filled with a special saline solution that helps numb the site and shrink the blood vessels (to minimize blood loss and reduce bruising). This solution wets and fills the area to be treated, making it easier to break up tissue with the VASER System’s ultrasonic energy. Then a small probe transmits sound energy (similar to that used for cataract removal from the eye) to break up fatty tissue on contact. With the application of a specialized technique, the ultrasonic energy is concentrated on the sweat glands in the armpit while preserving other important tissues. Finally, the liquefied fat and sweat glands are removed through a gentle suction process designed to minimize damage to surrounding tissues.
These treatments are effective on underarms in particular – and have a massive effect on confidence levels – there’s really nothing worse than having to deal with constant sweating, tell-tale marks on your clothes and the discomfort of being permanently mopping your brow.
