Pucker Up As Restylane Delivers Ultimate Lip Service

It's no secret that soft, sexy, luscious lips drive men wild, so if your lips are in need of a subtle but sensuous boost in time for National Kissing Day on July 6th, help is at hand with the new Restylane Lidocaine lip plumping treatment with added anaesthetic.

Scientists have long known that gorgeous, plump lips greatly enhance the sexual attractiveness of a woman, so it is not surprising that Angelina Jolie was voted the sexiest woman on earth for her voluptuous pout. But for those who are not naturally blessed with a killer set of lips that would leave any man trembling, as Angelina clearly has, Riverbanks Clinic has the perfect answer in the form of the new Restylane Lidocaine with added anaesthetic.

"Restylane Lidocaine is a highly effective lip plumping treatment which gives a subtle, natural boost to the lip area. But we are not talking trout pout here, it is a gentle filler that creates fuller lips and helps smooth fine lines around the mouth and now contains local anaesthetic to make the procedure even more comfortable," says Dr Ravi Jain, Medical Director at multi-award winning non-surgical cosmetic clinic Riverbanks.

The treatment takes just thirty minutes (including consultation) and is available from Riverbanks Clinic from just £350. And with swelling likely to last just twenty-four hours, it is being billed as the perfect lunchtime lip fix with minimum fuss.

Restylane Lidocaine is just one of a number of lip enhancing procedures available and muscle relaxing treatments such as Botox are also a popular choice to help alleviate fine lines around the mouth. Dr Jain recommends that anyone looking to undergo any kind of lip plumping treatment should seek expert advice first.

"As with any treatment, medicinal or cosmetic, it is important to assess the overall health of the patient to determine the most appropriate treatment. The lips are a very prominent feature and impossible to cover up if things go wrong, which is why it is so important to see a specialist who really knows what they are doing and can give you the best possible care and minimise the risk of adverse reaction," advises Dr Jain.

Special Offer: Book any lip enhancing treatment in the month of July at Riverbanks Clinic and receive a complimentary skin brightening treatment worth £55.

Here's a round up of just some of our Press exposure in April 2009:

"Patients are increasingly realizing that there are alternative treatments out there, which mean they don't have to take extended time off work and jeopardize their job security in order to maintain their beauty regime, most of which cost considerably less than traditional cosmetic surgery, too," said Dr Jain.

  • Spa Secrets Magazine featured news of our fantastic Aesthetic Medicine Awards for 'Best New Clinic' and 'Best Business Development' - this was featured in a number of other publications too, including Hertfordshire Life.
  • Dr Ravi talked to The Mirror about Macrolane plumping injections and Vaser Lipo:

‘Macrolane tends to be chosen by women nervous about surgery,’ says Ravi Jain, Medical Director at Riverbanks cosmetic clinic. ‘They may be an A cup and want to go up a size, or want a more rounded bottom.’

  • Company Magazine recommended Riverbanks Clinic for painless laser hair removal.

A lot of people search the internet for a particular technology which they feel will suit their needs. Sometimes a product will have bad press and this may put people off it. I have received numerous questions through the Ask Dr Jain a question section, and a lot of them are about using Pixel for acne scarring. They have often been along the lines of...

"I have had 4 sessions of pixel and my scars are no better.... why is that?"

Obviously it is hard to comment accurately without full details of the treatment and history, but its my guess that the treatment protocols used were inadequate. Let me explain...

Pixel has been around for about 2-3 years now and uses fractional laser technology to effectively resurface the skin, and is used for acne scarring as well as skin rejuvenation among other uses. Like with most technologies, when they first emerged, the protocols were very conservative, and therefore patients were less impressed with the results. However, over the last 2 years, good doctors have developed the protocols in their own clinics which have started to deliver excellent results for the patient.

I have used Pixel in London for 2 years now and with the current protocols, results are good, particularly with acne scarring. These protocols have been painstakingly developed through communication between like-minded doctors (British Association of Cosmetic Doctors) who treat cosmetic medicine as any other speciality and are constantly trying to advance our knowledge, understanding and treatments, all for the benefit of our patients.

So you may ask, why do I not offer Pixel at Riverbanks Clinic? Since Pixel, along with advancing protocols, there has been advances in laser technology too. The CO2 laser has always been the most effective resurfacing laser in the world, but because of its severe effects, has been restricted to surgical use only and brave people who were prepared for several weeks of healing. Modern techniques allow the SmartXide DOT laser to use a fractional CO2 laser which has very similar effects to normal ablative lasers, but the strength can be taoilored to suit a patients needs and how much time they are prepared to look red for! Most treatments cause between 2-3 days of redness, but stronger ones can take 10-14 days to recover from, with the benefit of faster results. Its all down to you!

I use Pixel for Courthouse Clinics on Wimpole Street on Tuesdays and Smartxide at Riverbanks Clinc the rest of the week.

So, please do remember that just because a clinic offers a certain technology do not assume that they are skilled to get the best results out of it! Its what you do with it that counts!
